Two couples were found with a huge haul of hundreds of bars of chocolate in the boot of their cars, mainly from Swiss brand Lindt, when arrested following the theft.

Norwich Magistrates’ Court was told police had been alerted after a Tesco security guard at the Harford Bridge store in Norwich noticed a large gap on the chocolate aisle.

CCTV showed two women entering the store together before stripping the shelves of chocolate bars, boxes of chocolates and other confectionery items.
