Major food waste-to-energy scheme in Suffolk gets green light
Southwold pubs and brewing group Adnams and its energy partner Bio Capital have got the go-ahead for a 49,000 tonne Anaerobic Digestion (AD) facility at Reydon, Southwold.
The aim is to revive a closed AD plant originally built on site in 2010 to enable it to deal with all 30,000t of Suffolk's domestic food waste as well as brewery and restaurant waste.

Adnams - working with project partner Bio Capital - has been given the green light for the redevelopment of the plant.
Waste from across the county - and from the brewery’s own operations - will be collected at the facility from next year.
The project comes ahead of new legislation requiring all local authorities to collect food waste from residential homes.
