Construction of £4bn mega wind farm off Suffolk/Norfolk coast begins
ScottishPower will be breaking records as its £4bn East Anglia THREE offshore wind farm in the North Sea near Lowestoft officially begins with the installation of the first turbine foundation.
The monopile being set into the seabed - the first of 95 - is 83.89m tall, 10.6m in diameter and weighs 1,800 tonnes - a new offshore wind industry record.

It is the largest installed to date from a jack-up vessel in Europe.
ScottishPower Renewables chief executive Charlie Jordan hailed it as "a real wow moment" for both ScottishPower and its parent company Iberdrola.
