Woman loses fight to build homes behind Norfolk pub... again

Teresa Riches had hoped to build five new properties on land west of Low Road in Wortwell, a village between Harleston and Bungay, behind the Wortwell Bell.

But villagers living nearby raised concerns about the traffic and flood risk, with one describing the development as a “blight on the area and the village”.

South Norfolk Council then rejected the bid with concerns that it would be an “unacceptable intrusion” in the countryside.

So, Mrs Riches appealed her case to the Planning Inspectorate, which rules over disputes.
