Plans to convert former fire station given go-ahead on second attempt
AA Developments applied for planning permission from East Suffolk Council to renovate the building in Lower Olland Street, Bungay, into two flats at the end of last year.
Planning papers argued that the proposal for the two-bedroom homes would provide a "much needed low cost dwellings without intrusive harm to the locally listed building".
And despite concerns from Bungay Town Council that the bid was an "overdevelopment of the site", East Suffolk has approved the plans.
This was not the first application that was submitted to bring the site back to life.
