Plans for major coastal retirement complex unveiled
McCarthy Stone has submitted a bid to East Suffolk Council to build 36 apartments on land south of Sole Bay Health Centre in Teal Close, Reydon.
The plans include a range of communal facilities, including a lounge, guest suite, and a commercial unit, alongside 28 new car parking spaces.
In planning documents, the developer argued that there is a "significant and growing need for retirement housing to cater for the existing and growing number of older people in East Suffolk area".
It added that by utilising this vacant site next to a GP surgery, it would provide a "unique opportunity" to deliver age-appropriate housing in close proximity to essential healthcare services.
