Parents receive shock letter outlining plans to scrap sixth form for good

The correspondence was sent this morning (Thursday, September 25) from the East Anglian Schools Trust which said it is proposing the closure of Bungay High Sixth Form from September 2026.

The trust suspended the Year 12 intake at the start of this month due to only 19 pupils enrolling onto courses at the sixth form.

Students and parents were told on the first day of term, causing anger and upset for many as they scrambled to find placements elsewhere.
