Man loses battle against council to demolish farm building for new home
Tom Hall had sought permission from East Suffolk Council to replace an agricultural building on his property in Sotterley Road, Stoven, with a four-bedroom house last June.
It was his second application for the proposal after the council refused to give permission the first time in March 2024.
But the council's planning section had refused the second last August.
The council decided that the new house would be "significantly larger in scale than the existing building" and have a "much greater visual intrusion into the wider landscape".
So Mr Hall had appealed his case to the Planning Inspectorate, which rules over planning disputes.
