Farmer loses fight to build a new barn following dispute with council
Richard Boddy had submitted a plan to East Suffolk Council for the structure on his land at Cratfield - near Halesworth - to use for hay and machinery storage.
But the council rejected the bid, citing concerns over the impact on the landscape. They also questioned the need for the store.
Mr Boddy took his case to the Planning Inspectorate, which adjudicates in planning disputes, and argued the barn was essential to secure the farm's future.
