Drivers urged to avoid rat run route during major roadworks
Major roadworks began in July on the A146 Loddon Bypass, which has seen traffic lights, road closures for two of the roundabout exits and a 30mph speed limit imposed.
The works are for a £216,000 project led by the Norfolk County Council to install new bus stops and carry out essential drainage maintenance work on the road.
But as the work takes place, people living in Loddon have become increasingly frustrated and concerned about the impact it has had on the town.
Drivers have been diverting through Loddon High Street and Chedgrave to avoid congestion by the roundabout.
And now Kay Mason Billig, leader of Norfolk County Council, has asked people to be patient and not avoid the A146 as it is still the easier and quicker route.
