People across Beccles, Bungay, and Halesworth came out to watch the Olympic, world and Tour de France champions in the first stage of the Lloyds Tour of Britain race today.

The cyclists set off in Woodbridge at 11am and embarked on a 104-mile journey through East Suffolk before finishing in Southwold around 3pm.

Two of the onlookers were Liz and David Bird, who travelled from Colchester to watch the spectacle in Halesworth.
