The 13-year-old, who wanted to remain anonymous, was at Sloughbottom Park when he was set upon by a hooded youth who was swinging a large blade at the terrified teen.

A teen on the floor being approached by a knifeman (Image: Submitted) The boy tried to kick the knife from the hand of the offender - dressed all in black - after he fell to the floor in the incident which happened at about 4.15pm on Thursday.

The victim, who had been playing basketball with some other boys, went to get his bike but was hit on the back of the head by a girl with a speaker.
