Wrecked 39ft yacht crushed to rubble as part of £72,000 salvage mission

But, as these pictures show, the La Bergere, a 39ft yacht which sank on the Norfolk Broads, has certainly seen its sailing days ended.

The vessel has been crushed and turned to rubble following a salvage operation that cost tens of thousands of pounds.

The boat foundered near the entrance to Breydon Water, close to Berney Arms, earlier this year.

A few weeks earlier, in an unrelated incident, a 66ft houseboat, Tauri, sank on the same stretch of river, two miles upstream on the Yare near to Polkey's Mill.
