The decision means the owners of the Gatehouse Lodge, located opposite Gresham's School in Holt, will have to stop using the five-bed property as a holiday let.

Despite the ruling, it remains available to rent at £327 a night.

It is one of six luxury homes - all with castle-themed names like the Keep and the Bailey -located at the Grove, a gated community off Cromer Road.

The business, which charges £1,843 for a five-night stay, was originally built as a garage and office.

But developer Jamie Rennie later turned it into a home without the correct planning permission.
