A bid to open the McDonald's site near Fakenham is already progressing, after permission was granted for the Golden Arches sign to be put up outside the building in Holt Road.

However, environmental health officers at North Norfolk District Council have objected to the application.

In a report to the council, officers say they are worried the 24-hour nature of the restaurant could cause people living nearby to be affected by noise caused by vehicles........
