Former Great Yarmouth Labour councillor Michael Watts feared Rupert Lowe risked "stirring up hatred without any facts whatsoever" after he called for demonstrations to be held in Winterton.

The independent MP for Great Yarmouth warned of protests that would go "on and on", following village gossip speculating about the future use of a Mencap facility caring for vulnerable adults in the village.
