Hire firm boss rails against 'death trap' boats littering Broads
Daniel Thwaites, a Broads Authority member and director of Barnes Brinkcraft, said he was "frustrated" at the threat poorly maintained vessels pose to hire boat fleets.
In particular, he took aim at "live-aboards" - vessels used as homes - that are not complying with boat safety regulations.
He told fellow navigation committee members at a meeting: "It frustrates me how my hire boats are at risk of illegal boats, but nothing seems to be done with them.
"It is astonishing, they are death traps, but are just left."
