Eight properties in north Norfolk assessed by Home Office for asylum seeker housing
Wendy Fredericks, a North Norfolk district councillor, revealed the information at a council meeting after a Fakenham member questioned whether there were plans to house any in the town.
Ms Fredericks, the authority's cabinet member for housing, said: "The council is aware of increasing reporting in Norfolk about asylum seeker accommodation.
"To date, we have been advised that eight properties are being appraised by a government contractor.
"As of today, we do not believe any placements have been made in the district."

She did not give any details about the locations of the eight properties.
