Calls for Broads Authority to be scrapped as part of local government shake-up
Ed Maxfield, a county councillor for Mundesley and former Liberal Democrat group leader, urged for the move to be considered in order to cut costs.
He has called for the authority to stop its recruitment of a new chief executive - earning a salary of £100,000 - and instead believes much of the administration and management could be undertaken by the new councils.

Mr Maxfield said: "Everyone is talking about reform being a way to save taxpayers' money.
"For me, the priority has always been about accountability.
"Both of those goals could be met by scrapping the Broads Authority and handing........
