A recent council report has sparked fear among the Lynnsport Bowls Club members in King's Lynn, which suggests they may lose 60pc of their indoor facilities.

The bias to swimmers has left players worrying it could be a full count blow for the club altogether, due to the "devastating effect" it would have.

David Bailey, secretary for the club, asked at a council meeting this week: "To achieve the current proposals, the bowls club will need to sacrifice and reduce their capacity by 60pc.

"The loss of such a high capacity will have a devastating effect not just on the Lynnsport Club and its members - especially the vulnerable - but the local bowls community in general.

"There are discrepancies in the information and figures being circulated.

"Can I ask that these discrepancies are looked at then following this to allow a review to see if there is still a need for such........
