Shrubbs Farm, near Edgefield in north Norfolk, was given the go-ahead earlier this year to expand by building six sheds to house 310,000 chickens, spanning about seven football pitches.

NNDC approved the major application after receiving no objections from Natural England or the Environment Agency.

However, the decision led to outrage as villagers complained they were unaware of the development, as it was not debated publicly by councillors at a committee.
