'Missing link' on flagship footpath could be restored after two-year closure
Norfolk County Council (NCC) has submitted plans to reinforce a stretch of riverbank between Bramerton and Surlingham, east of Norwich, to allow the walking trail to reopen.
More than half a mile of the path (1km) has been shut since September 2023 after flooding caused the bank to collapse into the River Yare.
It forms part of the Wherryman's Way, a 37.5 mile footpath that follows the course of the river between Great Yarmouth and Norwich.
