Upper Wood Farm Shop in Mautby was targeted in December when a thief loaded a trolley full of produce and fled without paying.

The theft dealt a "huge hit" to the farm shop, run by Erin Shreeve and her husband, just before Christmas.

A man has now appeared in court and is waiting to be sentenced for stealing the meat.

A spokeswoman for Norfolk Constabulary said: "Glenn Miller, aged 53, of Marine Parade, Great Yarmouth has been charged with stealing meat to the value of £1,100 on 20 December 2025.

"He appeared at Norwich Magistrates Court on 20 January 2026 where he was remanded in custody.

"He is due to appear at Great Yarmouth Magistrates’ Court on 18 March 2026 for sentence."

The farm shop is an honesty shop, meaning it relies on the goodwill of customers to come in and pay for the produce without any staff manning the store.

Speaking after the theft, Mrs Shreeve said: "It is a huge hit for a small family shop, a small family business.

"It is not just the money. It is the work that has gone into it. It is two years' worth of work that has gone into it."
