Hospital paitent took heroin in toilet while waiting for treatment
Eammon Holden, 54 and of St Nicholas Road, Great Yarmouth, was caught taking heroin in the toilets at James Paget Hospital on August 25, 2025.
Appearing at Great Yarmouth Magistrates' Court, he pleaded guilty to being in possession of a controlled Class A drug.

Jacqueline Hanlon, prosecuting, said: "The defendant was in James Paget Hospital awaiting treatment.
"While he went to the toilet the fire alarm went off and he was found with two wraps of white powder.
"He expressed remorse and said it was for personal use."

At the time, Holden was at the hospital receiving treatment for a leg infection.
The court heard it is apparent that he has a severe nasty infection which causes him pain and Holden decided to get some Class A drugs as he said it is the only way to relieve the pain.

Holden has been fined £80, must pay a victim surcharge of £32 and prosecution costs of £40.
