Plans for the development involving 38,000 chickens were lodged by Sporle Farms for Great Palgrave Farm in Sporle.

This would involve the demolition of the existing turkey breeder buildings, described as "no longer fit for purpose for modern poultry production".

The broiler breeder unit would replace the site and comprise of three linked poultry houses as well as associated infrastructure.

But the plans sparked backlash and concerns from villagers over the impact of the development near Swaffham.
