Plans from BT to install the first Street Hub unit in Lowestoft had previously been thrown out.

But subsequent appeals to the Planning Inspectorate have now been "conditionally allowed".

Two applications for Illuminated Advertisement Consent and full planning permission centred around removing a payphone kiosk on the approach to Lowestoft town centre and installing the new device, complete with double-sided digital 75-inch LCD display screens, in its place.

Lodged with East Suffolk Council in October last year, BT earmarked a modern, digital kiosk that provides a range of free services, including ultrafast........
