Lowestoft MP Jess Asato welcomed the new measures to protect children from harmful online content.

The proposals, announced by the secretary of state for science, innovation and technology, Liz Kendall, would see social media platforms prohibited from offering services to under-16s.

Since entering Parliament, Ms Asato has campaigned for stronger protections for children online.
