The return of the 107 bus route in Lowestoft - which serves the Gunton area and links to the town's bus station via a circular service - has been hailed by users as it made its first journey around town in more than six years.

The newly-reinstated First Bus 107 route has revived vital public transport links that were lost in 2019.

The new 107 bus is now reconnecting parts of Gunton to the town centre once more following a concerted campaign.

Running between the Gunton St Peter's area and Lowestoft town centre, it returned on Monday, November 3.

The inaugural journey headed out from the town's bus station at 10.10am, with councillors, locals and members of the East Suffolk Travel Association (ESTA) all celebrating its return.

The first 107 bus to be in use since 2019 - after it had initially been withdrawn by a different bus operator - saw numerous local people board the bus........
