A farming family's bid to build a "mega-chicken facility" was axed earlier this week by councillors following a six-year saga.

Waveney MP Adrian Ramsay praised East Suffolk Council for throwing out the plans for poultry uints housing more than 100,000 birds at Shadingfield near Beccles after a flood of objections had been sent in.

Mr Ramsay said: "East Suffolk Council made the right decision in refusing permission for the mega-chicken factory in Shadingfield.
