Major £59m flood protection scheme receives vital funding boost
It comes after Suffolk County Council's cabinet approved a plan to underwrite a £2.7 million funding gap in the Benacre and Kessingland Managed Realignment Scheme.

In October last year the county council agreed a £2m contribution towards the £59.1m project - alongside £25m from nuclear power plant Sizewell C and £32.1m from the Environment Agency - for the planned-for flood relief and drainage scheme around the A12, properties and 600ha of farmland south of Lowestoft.
