Jump on the bus as town joins national heritage celebration

The Lowestoft Heritage Open Days Festival returns from Friday, September 12 with a host of activities celebrating the town's rich history and culture.

Numerous events will take centre stage across Lowestoft and the surrounding villages as the town joins the National Heritage Open Day’s Festival.

Opportunities to visit local buildings, events and exhibitions will all feature alongside talks, walks and recitals as the festival runs through to Sunday, September 21.

All activities are free to enjoy including the chance to visit one of the country’s top transport museums, with a free heritage bus service connecting events in Lowestoft and Oulton Broad.

(Image: East Anglia Transport Museum) The town’s three museums are all taking part, and on Saturday, September 13 the East Anglia Transport Museum in Carlton Colville is offering free admission between noon and 4pm as well as a free heritage bus service between 11am and 5pm.
