A series of new concept designs show a cultural venue called The Battery, a new restaurant, a surface level car park, a new public toilet block and a plaza at the heart of the comprehensive redevelopment of Lowestoft town centre.

The ambitious £24.7m scheme also includes The Spark project, which will be a major transformation of the Marina Centre.

The landmark regeneration project will transform an underused area of the town centre into a vibrant destination for culture, creativity and community life.

The new plans are due to be submitted in June after the bid to create a new Cultural Quarter as part of a huge £24.7m scheme of works was delayed last year following the discovery of a sewer.

The revamp of Battery Green in Lowestoft was previously due to be completed by last month, but East Suffolk Council - which is leading the project - revealed in September last year that plans were under review after the scheme hit a major snag.

A risk was identified with building over a large, established sewer that runs through the site, and Anglian Water said it could not give permission........
