East coast crossings to go 'head to head' in battle of the bridges
And now two multi million pound bridges will go "head to head" next month as they battle it out for a national award.

And in the yellow corner, representing Norfolk, with a total weight of 2,600 tonnes it's the £121m Herring Bridge in Great Yarmouth.

With both having been built by leading civil engineering contractor Farrans Construction, for Suffolk County Council and Norfolk County Council respectively, a Farrans spokesman said "two prestigious projects" have been shortlisted for the national awards.
The spokesman said: "Gull Wing and Herring Bridge will go head to head against each other for The Bridges Design and Construction Award (above £10 million) while Gull Wing is also shortlisted in the Bridges Ethos award category."
