And now The Creature from Scroby Sands has made a splash in the movie world after scooping two awards at an international event.

The film has landed two awards at the Fortean Film Festival in Gloucestershire for best comedy and best trailer.

The festival for independent filmmakers focuses on movies about the weird, the supernatural, the paranormal and the unexplained - with its title 'Fortean' hailing from Charles Fort, a researcher of anomalous phenomena.

After making its debut on the big screen last month at the town's Ice House on Bridge Road, there was double delight for The Creature from Scroby Sands filmmakers.

The horror comedy was named Best Comedy and won Best Trailer in the 2025 instalment of the wacky........
