Bid to turn town home into housing for asylum seekers is withdrawn
Proposals were lodged last month to turn a property in a conservation area in Kirkley, Lowestoft into a house of multiple occupation (HMO) for asylum seekers.
The change of use plans to convert the property at 350 London Road South into a "16-bedroom HMO, which will house the asylum seekers" and be managed by Serco Ltd, had been submitted to East Suffolk Council on January 10.
