Whether it was cars stuck in traffic as they waited at the lights on the approach to the Bascule bridge, or locals making their way into town, a cheerful, friendly man would always acknowledge them all as they went past sheltered housing accommodation.

And now the community has paid their respects with warm tributes to Lowestoft man Gary after he died following a medical episode at the weekend.

He could regularly be seen sitting near a lamppost chatting to the public outside the Levington Court complex on London Road South, Lowestoft which is run by Orwell........
