Protesters and counter-protesters gather at City Hall for 'Deport Them All' rally

Both sides at the so-called 'Deport Them All' protest were separated by rows of police, although at one point a man from the counter protest broke the line, before being escorted back.

Anti-migrant protesters could be heard chanting "send them back", "get them out" and "stop the boats".

There were also chants of support for far-right activist Tommy Robinson.

One, named Rob, said: "Why don't we all just sit down, we are not going to get anywhere unless we talk.
