An eviction notice was handed to the group of approximately 12 caravans on Saturday, with enforcement agents then employed to carry out their removal on Monday morning.

The initial notice - which informed the group that they were trespassing on private land and needed to leave - was handed to the encampment at 5.30am on Saturday by the town council and police.
