The escort has been set up in honour of Denis James Kirk, a founding member of Harlequins Scooter Club, who has died aged 73.

As many as 50 scooters will depart from Littleproud Funerals where they will drive past The Railway Tavern and Kirk’s home in Bishoptyne Avenue, before heading onward to St Peter’s Church in Yaxham where the funeral is being held on July 16.

There will also be a collection at the service for Football Against Dementia, a disease which Kirk battled for 15 months prior to his death.

Guests will then be invited to the Railway Tavern for a drink and Kirk’s favourite meal of fish and chips.
