Roadworks during tourism season sees railway station get in a huff

Work by Anglian Water to lay a new water main for a housing development in Aylsham has cut off Bure Valley Railway’s main access from Norwich Road.

Managing director Andrew Barnes has questioned why the work has been carried out during the peak of summer.

He said: “This could have been done in the spring or the autumn but no, the county approved the works in the busiest tourism week of the year.
