Peter Bulman, a Conservative on Broadland District Council, said many farmers were “struggling to make ends meet” and were increasingly opting for the financial certainty offered by solar developers.

He suggested that the result is a series of installations which will “change the landscape, the way we look at the landscape and are a blight on the landscape”.
