Plans unveiled to ease town centre congestion with bus revamp

The proposals, which are currently out for consultation, are primarily aimed at enhancing bus services and accessibility in the town centre.

The council says Dereham Market Place sees around 180 buses arrive and depart each day, but the current location and layout of the bus stops often causes congestion and limits accessibility.

If approved, the scheme would see the bus stop outside NatWest extended to accommodate three buses.

Pedestrian access would also be improved outside the William H Brown bus stop.
