One-of-a-kind Cold War jet gifted to Norfolk RAF Heritage Centre

The fibreglass F-5 Tiger has stood at the entrance to RAF Alconbury in Cambridgeshire for nearly 50 years.

But fundraising efforts are now under way to relocate the unique plane to the RAF Sculthorpe Heritage Centre near Fakenham.

It has an unsual history as it is a full-size replica created by a moulding firm in Huntingdon.

The company had hoped to sell fibreglass F-5 models to foreign air forces to help them appear better-equipped if they were spied on.
