I've been attacked as a journalist twice in a year... I'm just trying to do my job

That is not a surprising emotion - given that I had spent hours consuming the white cloud of rage which had descended on the streets of Thetford on Wednesday evening.

However, unlike the despicable mob, whose fury was seeded with political grievances, I was simply angry because I hadn't been allowed to do my job.

As a journalist you have to welcome being challenged, and for most of the night I enjoyed the debates I had with many in Thetford about my piece depicting the first night of protests.

In my article, uploaded around two hours before the protest began, I referred to those within the crowd who had forced men to be pulled from their homes by police, as a "mob".

And as I arrived at Thetford Police Station for the second night of proceedings, it was clear that many disagreed with the term - as they are entitled to........
