West Norfolk council has received plans to demolish the five-bedroom 1920s property on Wodehouse Road, at Old Hunstanton.

It would be replaced by a larger split-level property, with a separate studio next door.

A planning statement says the cost of modernising the existing house, which has been owned by the same family for 60 years would be more than that of a new-build.

It adds the existing property has masonry walls with no insulation, while adding it would require "extensive work" which would still not make the property energy efficient.

Wodehouse Road, where the average house price is now £890,000, was first developed in the early 20th Century.

A decision on the application will be made by North........
