Man who 'strangled someone' is detained in dramatic arrest outside fashion chain
The drama kick-started at about 8pm on Sunday in London Street when police were called to reports of a man acting aggressively.
An eyewitness said: "He was standing in the doorway of White Stuff and got searched and arrested.
"Then a girl came out of the Ivy, stared at him, then walked off and started crying."
A police spokeswoman has confirmed that a man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of common assault, threats to kill and intentional strangulation.
It is understood that these offences relate to a previous incident that happened in Suffolk in February.
He was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning, before being released on bail until April 30.
