Man 'became embroiled in terror plot' after meeting Syrian at Norwich mosque
Walid Saadaoui, who owned an Italian restaurant in Great Yarmouth, is on trial at Preston Crown Court accused of preparing acts of terrorism.
The Tunisian national is said to have wanted to cause "untold harm" and kill as many Jewish people as he could by targeting a gathering in Manchester.
The 38-year-old is accused of using money raised by the sale of his restaurant, the Albatross, just off Yarmouth's Golden Mile, to buy four AK-47 assault rifles, two handguns and 1,200 rounds of ammunition with which to carry out the massacre.
However, he was arrested in the car park of a hotel in Bolton as he took delivery of some of the weapons, from an undercover police officer.
