The incident happened at a lot in Seafield Caravan Park in Newport Road, Hemsby, at about 5pm on bonfire night (November 5).

Caravans were being destroyed in a "controlled burn" at a lot in Fake Road dubbed by locals as the "caravan graveyard".

The site is full of about 60 disused mobile homes, which were being stripped out and destroyed by a third-party contractor at the time.

A fire crew from Gorleston was called to rein in the fire (Image: Supplied)

But those living near the resort claim the "controlled" blaze quickly grew out of control.
