They found themselves cut off by the tide on the north west side of Wells beach just after 4.30pm on Saturday.

HM Coastguard was alerted and called Wells RNLI, which launched the D class inshore lifeboat 'Peter Wilcox' at 4.38pm.

Visibility was good........
