Police were called to a property in Layer Close, Bowthorpe, by paramedics at 4.45am on Monday.

They had been responding to reports of a man struggling to breathe when they encountered a man who was being violent and aggressive.

When they arrived, they found the victim with several stab wounds.

He died at the scene.
